Jens Hoffmann is a co-organizer of 21st International AEK Cancer Congress 2023

As speaker for the working group “New Therapies” in the German Cancer Research Organization (DKG/AEK), Jens Hoffmann is involved in the organization of the 21st International AEK Cancer Congress “Towards New Cancer Therapies: Mechanisms and Molecules” which will take place on February 15 - 17, 2023 at the Kongress Palais in Kassel (Germany).

The AEK Congress is organized by the German Cancer Society every two years and has become a major event for basic and translational cancer research in Germany.

With a strong focus on mechanistic research, next year’s edition will cover new biological insights, emerging therapeutic concepts and new molecules in a wide range of cellular pathways and processes (e.g. transcription, ubiquitin system, senescence, microenvironment, cancer immunity, metastasis), which will be presented by an exciting line-up of international leaders (see list of confirmed speakers below) and a keynote lecture by Charles Sawyers (MSKCC, New York).

In addition, a significant number of selected abstract talks, two rounds of “Poster Flash Talks”, and two poster sessions will give students, postdocs and junior faculty plenty of opportunity to present their latest research. Importantly, the moderate size of the meeting (up to 500 participants) and the beautiful venue will offer a lot of room for scientific interactions during breaks, poster sessions and social events. Especially for young scientists (for whom we provide special registration rates and travel bursaries) the meeting setup offers ample opportunities to network, explore collaborations, and discuss their research with international leaders and among each-other.
